Description
This lesson was designed for students with ASD to be able to recognize the different expressions other people make in order to develop and apply interaction skills within the total school environment. We used pictures of different people taken from magazines, laminate them and passed them around the classroom. We also held them up in front of our faces so that way the kids could have a better understanding of what each expression looks like on people. This can be modified for younger or older children using age-appropriate materials. The kids really enjoyed this and we’ve done it several times, adding new facial expressions each time.
